MAC module
The MAC component of the NS7520 provides a full function 10/100 Mbps media access
controller module with media independent interface (MII) and optional interface
modules, which include MII, PMD, and ENDEC.
The basic features in the MAC module include:
10/100 Mbps Ethernet MAC
MII interface
MII management function
Optional 100 Mbps physical coding sublayer (PCS)
Optional 10 Mbps ENDEC interface
Address filtering
Statistics gathering
The 10/100 Mbps Ethernet MAC can be connected to the following devices through
the MII:
10/100 Mbps PHY
100 Mbps TP-PMD
